Monastic Schedule
While at Valyermo, the brotherhood of Holy Resurrection Monastery has the use of the old youth center chapel, a little less than half a mile up the hill from the main cluster of buildings at St. Andrew's Abbey. The Byzantine monks go up to their chapel twice a day for the major services of morning and evening as well as the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, Saturday and Wednesday. The smaller services (mesonyktikon, compline and the small hours of the day) are prayed by the monks in their cells, or else substituted by the Jesus Prayer according to a rule given by the Abbot.
